How much does Annie’s cost?

Prices are mid-range to above average. At the time of checking, espresso was €3.40 and apple pie €5.50. Filled lunch dishes started at about €12.50. Dinner mains began around €16.75, although many substantial choices were between €20.50 and €25.50. Part of the price is clearly for the exceptional waterside setting.

Floating terrace and historic vaults

In good weather, the terrace is the strongest reason to visit. Views of the rivers, boats and historic surroundings are excellent. The trade-off is that terrace tables cannot be reserved. Waiting may be necessary on warm afternoons and sunny weekend evenings. The vaults give the interior more character than an average restaurant, but the website does not clearly explain accessibility across the different levels.

Reservations and groups

Annie’s does not accept reservations for the terrace. Groups larger than eight are asked to call or email. The website does not provide a separate online booking flow for smaller parties. If eating at a precise time or sitting indoors matters, contact the restaurant before assuming a table will be available.

Vegetarian food, allergens and coeliac visitors

Several vegetarian options are clearly identifiable. The official menu tells guests with an allergy to ask for the allergen guide. Best time to visit

A weekday lunch or early afternoon gives a better balance between the view and relative calm. Sunset on a warm day is more atmospheric, but also more likely to be busy. In poor weather the vaults retain character, although the venue’s biggest advantage—the floating terrace—is naturally lost.

Getting there

Allow roughly fourteen minutes to walk from Leiden Central through the centre. Annie’s is close to De Burcht, Hooglandse Kerk, De Waag and the shopping streets. Drivers are better off using a central car park and walking the final stretch rather than looking for on-street parking at Hoogstraat.
