Is Museum De Lakenhal good for children?
Especially from around age six. The free Family Trail uses thirteen interactive drawers and admission is free through age 17. The permanent collection remains more visual and text-led than a science museum.
When is Museum De Lakenhal open?
The museum opens Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 to 17:00 and is normally closed on Monday. Public holidays and special evenings may differ; check the official visitor page.
Is Museum De Lakenhal wheelchair accessible?
Mostly, but not completely. Almost all floors have lift access. Some passages are no wider than 85 cm, and the Old Dutch Kitchen, Brewers' Room and one level of the University Room cannot be reached with a mobility aid.
Where can you park near Museum De Lakenhal?
Lammermarkt car park is about a three-minute walk away. One accessible parking space for disabled parking card holders is located by the entrance. Leiden Central is roughly a ten-minute walk.
