Lammermarkt is most convenient for the northern centre, Museum De Lakenhal and Beestenmarkt. Garenmarkt is better for Breestraat, Pieterskerk and Rapenburg. Pre-book if you are staying several hours.

Where is the cheapest full-day parking in Leiden?

De Ananas lists a €15 daily maximum but is south of the centre. Level offers online spaces from €15. For the historic centre, a pre-booked day ticket at Lammermarkt, Garenmarkt or Morspoort costs €16.65.

Do you need to reserve parking in Leiden?

No. Lammermarkt, Garenmarkt and Morspoort are also accessible without a reservation. Booking ahead does provide a discount and, according to the municipality, guarantees a space within your selected time window.

Can you park on the street in Leiden city centre?

Only at designated short-stay locations without a permit. Zone A has eight such locations, with a two-hour maximum and a €4 hourly rate during the stated charging hours. Most other central spaces are permit-only.

Is Haarlemmerstraat car park open?

No. As of 24 July 2026, the garage is listed as closed indefinitely due to damage and renovation work. Use Lammermarkt, Garenmarkt or another open location.
